Ghost Poop

I had an interesting conversation with my 4 year old daughter in the bathroom yesterday. She was sitting on the toilet, trying to poop. I was in the adjoining bedroom. I heard her call so I went to see her.

Me: Did you poop?
She: Yes
Me: But I can't see any
She: Hmmm.....I can't see it either
Me: Maybe it was ghost poop?
She: Ghost poop? (laughing to herself)
Me: Yes, ghost poop....the ones you can't see
She: I don't go ghost poop. I only ghost fart!

She sure always makes me laugh.

Need Toilet Paper Bad

Someone really was desperate for paper. Doesn't look like they were successful though.

I'm a little confused by this picture though. To me, it looks like a paper towel holder. So why are there rolls of toilet paper inside?

Other Country Road Toilet Signs

In the last post, I showed you a picture of the sign you can find along the roads in Sweden that indicate that there is a place to rest and use a toilet.

Other countries in Europe have similar signs, although not as cute and welcoming.

Denmark

Finland

Germany

Common Road Trip Sign in Sweden

If you are road tripping or camping in Sweden, you will most likely come across this sign. Although it is more rare to see them these days, they still exist. And when you need to go, you sure are happy to see this sign. As seen in the picture, it was used for out-houses, but I've seen them used for more modern resting areas as well.

Lack of toilet access around the world

Today, research rom international charity WaterAid shows that 650 million people around the world have no access to clean water, and 2.3 billion people don't have access to a private bathroom!!!!

Here are some excerpts:

 - South Sudan is the worst place in the world to find a toilet. 93% of the population do not have access to a household toilet.

- All of the 10 worst places are in Africa.

- More than 774 million people in India do not have access to a private toilet.

- It is estimated that for every $1 spent on toilets, the economy is boosted by at least $3.

- In the developed world, Russia has the worst access to toilets. 39 million people in Russia don't have access to a safe private toilet.

- Even in the United States, there are 36,100 people without access to a toilet.

Just something to think about and be thankful about next time you're sitting on your clean, warm, safe toilet in your home bathroom.

Take care!

Snygg Toa Design

Ännu en snygg toalett som jag inte skulle ha något emot att sitta på. Stiligt!

Edet Toapapper

This image really reminds me of when I was a child. I was pretty advanced at an early stage and cannot remember using a potty. But I do remember my friend in the neighboring house using one of these classic pottys. Also, everyone I knew at that time got their toilet paper from Edet. It was probably the only manufacturer in Sweden back then. Edet was a household name. Nostalgia!

Back on the Toilet

It's been dead here for a while. The toilet blogging kind of went into hibernation. But now I'm back and ready for more photos, jokes, general info, etc.  Please use the comment function should you want to share any ideas or feedback. Thank you!

Swedish:

Simma lugnt!
